Acceptance
The requirement for acceptance into the course is that you are licensed to teach in K-12 grades and you have a Bachelors degree from a 4 year College.

Registration

To register for a class, click on https://www.www.scps.virginia.edu/applying-registering/. and then click on New Students (Defined as not taken a course in 3 semesters) or Returning Students (Defined as have taken a course within 3 semesters).

New Students
If you are a new student, submit the biographic form online to identify you. After you receive permission from UVa via a return email approving you, mail or fax the class registration form to UVa.

Returning Students
If you are a returning student, mail or fax the class registration form directly. If you are a MAPE candidate, you can email your registation form.

If you need help, call 800-346-3882 or 434-982-2779 and an administrator in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies(SCPS) will answer your questions over the phone.

Tuition for K-12 Educators - Fall 2013 through Summer 2014

The total cost for registering for a online course is tuition plus an off-grounds fee ($18/cr.).
The total cost for a 3 cr online course for an in-state and out-of-state educator is given below:
  • Educator in-state residence rate $300 per credit plus off grounds fee of $18 per credit. For a 3 cr. course the total cost is $954.
  • Educator out-of-state resident rate $672 per credit plus off grounds fee of $18 per credit. For a 3 cr. course the total cost is $2070.
